Faisal Al-Juburi (b. 1984) is quickly garnering attention as one of the most evocative writers and storytellers of his generation. His comprehensive background in the arts and culture arena as has led to his deep engagement as a librettist and lyricist for the concert hall and theatre stage. Faisal's latest project is a new musical with acclaimed composer Mohammed Fairouz, scheduled to premiere at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in 2016. The work marks the first commission of a major musical in the institution's 150 year history — reflecting the trailblazing nature that characterized his own tenure as an invigorating arts management executive.

Faisal spent a decade shaping compelling narratives in the not-for-profit sector, positioning institutional ventures for dynamic domestic and international partnerships. Most recently, he oversaw a comprehensive turnaround at Bridges of Understanding, a not-for-profit established in dedication to the themes of global citizenship. For the organization, he forged significant outreach and education alliances, curating initiatives rooted in the humanitarian power of the arts and concurrently spearheading a tenfold increase in contributed revenue.

Faisal's other noteworthy credits include: leading the public health and environmental initiative MillionTreesNYC, conceived by former New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg and entertainer and philanthropist Bette Midler; serving as a corporate relations specialist at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, where he advised on the fundraising structure for Arabesque: Arts of the Arab World and leveraged special events for large sponsorships and integrated marketing deals; and working with Ford's Theatre to lay the foundation for The Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Campaign — a $60 million effort that reinvented the historic site into an eduction and leadership campus.

Faisal holds a Master of Science degree in Communication from New York University (NYU) and a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of Virginia (UVA). He also studied Shakespeare and the Elizabethan Stage and Modern Drama in Performance in London. He resides in New York City and is a member of the American Society for Composers, Authors, and Publishers.
